Collection: IBIZA URCHIN

From Soho’s Shadows to Balearic Sun: The Story of IBIZA URCHIN.
Like many who found their rhythm under neon lights, my love of music began at school discos. But everything shifted when I turned Punk. Gigs replaced discos, and when iconic designs from Vivienne Westwood were far beyond my means, I did what any true misfit would do: I started making my own clothes at 15. By 19, I was developing film in a makeshift darkroom in our family bathroom, endlessly frustrating my sisters for hours on end.
London’s punk life became my entire world. We lived in the dark underbelly of Soho, spending our nights at the legendary Kit Kat Club and the Batcave. Then came a brilliant collision of sounds. Clubs like the Camden Palace emerged, fusing New Wave, Punk, Post-Punk, and raw Detroit beats on the dance floor. London was reinventing itself yet again—just as it had done in the heady days of the 1920s and 30s—birthing new subcultural tribes as the old ones faded away.
For our tribe, that energy morphed into raw warehouse parties in the derelict Docklands, nights out at The Fridge in Brixton, and whispers of something magical happening overseas. By the late 1980s, an explosive, sun-soaked phenomenon emerged from a Mediterranean island: Acid House. Within a single year, it fractured into a dozen beautiful sub-genres. By the 1990s, the Balearic beat had completely overtaken the UK mainstream.
Every single one of these tribal influences—from Punk, Goth, and Psychobilly to the heights of UK dance culture—is hardwired into the DNA of my designs.
From those heady, late-80s summers to my time creating high-end designer jewellery in London, Ibiza became my ultimate sanctuary for downtime. Through the mid-90s launches of Gilding the Lily and URCHIN, right up to the present day, the White Isle has remained my second home and an endless source of inspiration. It keeps on giving—from the absolute wild abandon of the club scene to the quiet, breathtaking beauty of its beaches and the unique characters who call it home.
IBIZA URCHIN is that raw, personal journey brought to life. No algorithms, no AI—just hand-drawn, authentic retro-aesthetic unisex streetwear born directly from the source. This collection is for those who were there, those who wish they were, and anyone who still lives for the rhythm of the counter-culture.
