'DARK URCHIN'

For when you want to go Dark, DARK URCHIN.

Inspired by my Punk, Psycho-Billy, and Goth roots, my DARK URCHIN Design Collection, for both Men and Women.

I'm all for the Sun, Sea, Beach, Sport, Dance, Club and Bar life, who isnt? Sometimes though...we all need to go a bit Dark, even there. Because as the saying goes, 'Life isnt always a Beach' is it? Sometimes it's dark bar on a rainy night in Soho.

Hand in hand with 'URCHIN', find your 'inner' DARK URCHIN here. Mix and Match. Surprise your fresher Ball with something a bit darker, but still glamorous. Combine with Urchin Sneakers or Hi Tops for a Skater Goth look. Got a wedding to go to? Turn some heads, upset a few, and maybe more with a U SKULL STORM shirt or dress. Hitting a Goth club? Same. Want something on the Piste, Skate Bowl, or Street that's got an edge? Same.

The Story

My first home made clothes bore out a need to express myself. Mohawked and skinny, unable to buy, or afford, the look what I wanted, I decided, in the DIY spirit of 70s Punk, to try and make my own in '79.

I first made 'frankenstein' pieces ( taking parts of clothes and stitching them together). This taught me how to sew, how clothes were put together, and difficult it was! My mum suggested I used her sewing machine. I'd been taught some sewing skills in School ( it was compulsory for boys and girls) I got used to the machine, then I got more adventurous and used shop bought patterns, and worked put how to cut fabric from these. 

I went for designs in Black Cotton, with high Western style Collars, Fake Fur, Chains, Skulls, Buckles, Straps. I made Western Style Singlets, a Levi Style Leather Jacket , and thigh high Leather Punk Mochisuns( I broke my mums sewing machine making those two!).

I wore these pieces with my shop bought gear. Some were successful some not.
