I’m all for the sun, sea, sand, and high-energy club life—who isn't? But sometimes, we all need to step into the shadows. Because let’s be honest: life isn't always a beach. Sometimes it’s a dim, rain-slicked alternative bar on a midnight run through Soho. For those moments when you want to go dark, there is DARK URCHIN.

Deeply rooted in the raw, counter-culture energy of my Punk, Psychobilly, and Goth roots, this collection offers an uncompromising alternative aesthetic for both men and women.Designed to go hand-in-hand with our lighter Urchin pieces, DARK URCHIN is built for mixing, matching, and disrupting the status quo.

Want to crash a formal wedding, turn some heads, and upset a few traditionalists? Throw on the U Skull Storm shirt or dress. Hitting an underground goth club, dropping into a skate bowl, or tearing up the ski piste with an edge? Same rule applies. The Heritage: Born in the DIY Spirit of 70s Punk.

My obsession with garment design didn't start in a corporate boardroom; it bore out of a desperate need for raw self-expression. Back in 1979, as a skinny, mohawk Punk kid unable to find or afford the clothes I actually wanted to wear, I embraced the true DIY spirit of British Punk and decided to make my own.I started by hacking together "frankenstein" pieces—deconstructing old clothes and hand-stitching them back together. It was brutal, clumsy work, but it taught me exactly how garments were built. Noticing my obsession, my mum stepped in and let me use her sewing machine. Armed with basic sewing skills from school and a pile of shop-bought patterns, I began cutting fabric and experimenting with dark, heavy textures.I obsessed over black cotton, high Western-style collars, faux fur, heavy chains, skulls, buckles, and industrial straps. I crafted custom Western singlets, a raw Levi’s-style leather jacket, and even a pair of thigh-high leather punk moccasins (though I famously broke my mum’s sewing machine attempting those last two!). Some pieces were a triumph, others a disaster, but they all forged the unbreakable blueprint of my design ethos.
